Daphne (Audrey)

Hello again!

I wanted to thank you for your note in response to our donation last month - I was thrilled to know the money came in handy right away and helped cover leg surgery for one of your Chihuahuas.

I also wanted to let you know that Daphne (originally Audrey) continues to flourish here. We could not have asked for a sweeter dog. We go on long walks and she sniffs everything. She loves meeting people and dogs and gets along well with our 3 cats. She is a great cuddler but loves running at top speed and playing tug-o-war, too. I've attached a few photos.

Best wishes to you & Ruffus Rescue this year. I hope we are able to give more or even adopt another furry family member soon.

Best,
Susan

Abby (Liza)

Hi Harriett,

Just wanted to share this with you!  Abby (Liza) just turned 9 in October and she is doing great.  Suzy will be 5 in July and I've never seen two dogs love each other so much.  They have a wonderful life... and I think about you often for making it possible by introducing me to Abby.  I hope you have a great New Year!

Mike

Sophia

Hello Harriett,  just wanted to check in with you to let you know I am so spoiled and my dads are the best ever. I am so glad you saved me, so they could find me.  I am very happy and loved.  I have my own fur blanket that I snuggle with.  Thanks again for all that you do, for dogs that need a good home.

Sophia!!

Augie (Camilla)

Harriett,

I think you do great work and want to support you.  I'm one of Augie's (formerly known as Camilla) moms.  We are so happy to have her in our lives.  She's a great dog.  I am so glad that you and your group were there to rescue her. Keep doing what you do.  Warm regards,

Jo

Roxie

Hi Harriett:

I adopted my beloved dog through you in February.  Roxie -- a little boxer mix. I just wanted to give you an update on her and let you know how much we love this little girl.  She is spoiled rotten!!  She underwent heartworm treatment and was tested a few months ago -- it was confirmed that she is heartworm free! I have attached a picture.

Thanks again!

Charlie

Hi Harriett!

I wanted to say thank you for rescuing Charlie (Ladybug) and taking a chance and sending her home with me a year ago!! We've stopped by and visited you several times and we wanted to stop by one more time, but we ran out of time. I just wanted to let you know about some exciting news! I got a job in Boulder, CO and Charlie and I are buying some winter coats / doggie snow boots and moving out there!! The best part is that I'm working at a dog-friendly office, so Charlie can come to work with me every day!! And there are lots of other dogs there so I am confident that she will be very happy :) She is just the cutest, sweetest, most well behaved, spunky dog I've ever met and I'm excited for us to go on this next big adventure! She's my girl and I honestly don't know what I would do without her! Thank you SO much again!! SHE IS THE BEST THING THATS EVER HAPPENED TO ME or the world for that matter!!

Beauregard

Hello Harriett.

We spoke for a few minutes yesterday at the Pet Supplies Plus adoption site.  I want to thank you again for your amazing mission and legacy.  We're just one family who benefited from your care and concern.  Beau was just one dog of so many who went on to live good lives.  Beau was cherished from  the moment he and I locked eyes at Ansley Mall.  You had saved and extended his life when you treated him for heartworms and kept him safe until his forever home became available.  He died last Thanksgiving Day in my arms and our son Randy's here at our home in Atlanta, and rests in our garden.  After Randy's major left brain stroke nearly three years ago, Beau gave him a reason to get up each day and to recover as much as he has.  We will never forget Beau.

Our dear VCA Buckhead Veterinary Hospital  doctors and staff helped to extend Beau's life, but he left far too soon--perhaps from heart damage or inherited health problems.  In the end it was organ failure that took him--heart and lungs and liver.  I'm attaching two pictures.  One is from 2006 at his adoption, and the second is from the month before he died--in one of his favorite places at Lake Burton.  I think the image with the beauty of fall foliage is magical.

I'll send a check now and then in Beau's memory.  I mentioned that we adopted a black Lab puppy in the spring.  Woody is now nearly 9 months old and a handsome fellow of 55 lbs.  He's keeping us busy trying to keep him out of danger and also safeguard the many items he is not supposed to chew.  His twin brother Jake, with whom he was discarded in Gwinnett County, was adopted by another of our sons, Greg.  The two pups get to visit and swim together often.  The Gwinnett chapter of the Georgia Society of Humane Friends saved both dogs--even through parvovirus.  Greg lives in Gwinnett.

Always our thanks and love,
Barbara (and Dale) Ray
