Hello Harriett,
Happy Mother's Day from Sophia . She is happy and so
loved, spoiled rotten though as she should be. She is the deaf dog we
adopted.

Buddy (formerly Buzzy)
Hello Harriett,
On June 14, 2014 we picked up Buzzy and on June 21, officially adopted him (now Buddy). He is the sweetest little boy and we love him to the moon and back. When
we adopted him, he had just been treated for heart worms. I am THRILLED
to report that the treatment worked and he is living a worm-free life. Buddy loves to play ball and snuggle with his parents. His sister loves him, too.
I've attached pictures of the handsome little boy to this email. He is the best. We are grateful to have Buddy in our lives! Thanks,
Meredyth

Lady Bird (Valentine)
Hi Harriett!
Hope you are well. Thought I'd send you a
quick little update on Lady Bird. She has a new best friend... We
adopted a cat a couple weeks ago (she was a rescue that Angels Among Us
took in from a shelter, fighting infections as a young kitten). Anyway,
she's around 7 months now and is perfectly healthy.
This
cat is fearless (which you can probably imagine knowing Lady has made
her the quick alpha). Lady is perfect with her... learned quickly to
read her queues on how to play and when to leave her alone. They even
play with cat toys together.
They bat balls
and tethered toys back and forth - which is about the cutest thing ever.
Lady even lays off chewing the cat's toys. They nap together,
ambush/play chase with each other and greet us at the door together and
beg for food in unison (though the last isn't the best habit).
She's
doing well with the other training/obedience issues, making steady
progress. I'm looking forward to getting her out on some longer hikes
and exploring now that the weather is better. :)

Rose
Here's a recent picture of our Rose who is aging beautifully. My parents, who you met when we picked her up, have been living in Cave Spring just south of Rome GA with acres of fields and woods and creeks and Rose has retired there with their 5 other rescues. She grew out of the big city park walks Buddy and I take but she gallops across their field in the morning on the walk down the long driveway to get the newspaper and goes for a dip in the creek to cool down. She then spends the rest of the day sleeping on the couch or at my dad's feet in his office. She's very attached to him! Buddy and I visit often and she really couldn't be happier and I really couldn't love her more!

Hazel
We just wanted to donate to show our thanks for our sweet Hazel
(formerly Laurel) and appreciation for all that you do. You might notice
it's a bit of an odd number--we had a lemonade stand a little while ago
and gave 25% of the profits to Ruffus Rescue, a whopping $5.75!
We
were informally/halfheartedly in search of a new dog when we came
across Hazel's picture last summer--we had lost a beloved dog suddenly
in the spring, and we were starting to think that our remaining (almost
10-year-old) dog could use a companion. Problem was, Henry isn't the
most social guy, so we knew the new dog would have to be pretty special.
Smaller, probably female, friendly and nonthreatening, energetic but
not annoying. And younger but definitely not a puppy! We just got a good
feeling from Hazel's picture and decided to go meet her. The good
feeling continued in person, so we snapped her up. And she has been
absolutely perfect in every aspect: she's the sweetest, friendliest,
snuggliest, most good-natured dog. She adores our daughters (and vice
versa), and she's even won over her grumpy old dog brother--as much as
he can be won over. She's got a bum elbow that might not be fixable, but
it doesn't seem to be slowing her down a bit. Thank you so much for
saving Hazel and leading her to us! She is the best.

Dottie
Hi Harriett. We adopted Dottie from you in January 2010, and I just
wanted to thank you again. We have sent you pictures from time to time
to let you know how she is doing, and I thought these two from a few
months ago were really cute. Dottie loves to go to the playground with
us, and our 3 year old son always makes sure she has plenty of water!
Thanks for what you do!
